Adsorption of P103 Nanoaggregates on Graphene Oxide Nanosheets: Role of Electrostatic Forces in Improving Nanosheet Dispersion

چکیده

Graphene oxide (GO) nanosheet suspension is not stable in physiological ionic fluids. To improve stability, surfactants such as Pluronic 103 (P103) have been tested. Going further, this work investigated whether conferring positive surface charge to the surfactant may adsorption ability of P103 micelles on GO sheets. Positive was induced by adding dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB, a cationic surfactant) micelles. Subsequent changes aggregation parameters were through dynamic light scattering and small-angle neutron studies. DTAB incorporation accompanied steady increase ζ potential mixed micelle formation. At high density, interaction between adjacent head groups distorted, which led dissociation Structural developments during sheet (mass fractal formation) monitored terms features aggregates. These fractals emerged result electrostatic interactions. Our observations point toward existence small-sized building blocks at low concentration (≤4 mM). With superior adsorption, are expected occupy intersheet space maintain hydration layer. However, higher (≥10 mM), dissociate produce DTAB-rich unimers P103-rich loose point, sheets tend aggregate solvent, regardless

Hydrogen adsorption by g-C3N4 and graphene oxide nanosheets

The adsorption behavior of hydrogen for synthesized graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) and graphene oxide nanosheets was compared. The structure of the prepared g-C3N4 and graphene oxide samples were studied using TEM, FT-IR spectroscopy and surface area analysis. Textural results of the prepared nanosheets show that the surface area, total pore volume, and average internal diameter of g-C3N4 an...

Application of Functionalized Graphene Oxide Nanosheet in Gas Separation

Graphene oxide nanosheet (GONS) can be a suitable membrane for gas separation with high permeability and selectivity. Separation of N2/CO2 using functionalized GONS was investigated by molecular dynamics simulations. The simulated systems were comprised of two types of GONS with a pore in their center, N2 and CO2 molecules. The selectivity and ...

Studies on Adsorption of Some Organic Dyes from Aqueous Solution onto Graphene Nanosheets

Graphene, a new member of the carbon family, was used as an adsorbent due to its exceptional capability to remove Rhodamine B (RB) and Malachite Green (MG), two organic dyes, from aqueous solutions. Adsorption kinetics of RB and MG onto graphene and adsorption capacity of the adsorbent were studied. Also the effects of parameters, including pH, contact time, temperature, and adsorbent dosag...
